BRAND NEW Acer Spin 5 cannot detect Battery / Battery plugged not charging

I purchased a Acer Spin 5 yesterday. It works fine when plugged in, but shuts down as soon as I unplug. Says cant detect battery or connected, not charging. However orange battery light is blinking.

Tried to reset battery by inserting in the pinhole at the bottom
Tried to unistall the Microsoft ACPI compliant method


Nothing worked, I am unsure how to resolve, any help will be appreciated. Also advise if this device is not worth buying, if I should return it

    I am having the same issue.  Spin 5P513-51.  Showing fully charged but won't operate unless plugged in.  Any suggestions?

    My model is very similar to yours- Spin 5P513-52. I purchased from Costco. It has window 10

    As resetting the battery doesn't help, I suggest you to contact Acer support.
    Always post the following characterisitcs of the device:
    -Model number
    -Part number(not required, but helpful)
    -CPU
    -GPU
    -Operating system

    Helios 300 and Nitro 5 users DO NOT update the BIOS to version 1.22 if you don't want the keyboard's backlight to turn off after 30 seconds even when the device is plugged in.

  • @anamika843Did you check if deleting the battery driver and the ac adapter in the device manager, solve the problem? Restart the notebook! What is the bios version?
    @EldoradoIs your notebook still under warranty? If so, I agree with colleague ven98! However, if it is not, I believe that this button should be better pressed:

    Do you check if the lowercase screws are securely fastened?
