Bought an Aspire 3 a315-41-r98u, part number NX.GY9AA.013, serial NXGY9AA01383304F0F3400 recently as it was on sale and also because of the review in PC Magazine https://www.pcmag.com/review/366316/acer-aspire-3-a315-41-r98u. The review states that it is possible to add a second hard drive. In taking it apart I cannot find any connectors to hook up a drive in the open bay in the lower left of the second photo. BTW the 256gb boot drive is in the slot in the upper right. The blue tool is pointing to it.
Is it possible to put a second drive in there and if how how would I hook it up? I really need a second drive as I want to load a lot of photos in it to edit in Lightroom.
The Acer manual has no info on this subject at all.

    Hi,
You need to get a SATA cable, bracket and screws to fix them.
    Cable part number:50.GY9N2.003
    Bracket part number:33.GY9N2.001
    Screw size to attach the HDD/SSD to bracket:M 3.0 x 3.0 (4 screws)  Part number:86.MXRN2.008
Screw size to attach the HDD assembly:M 2.0 x 3.0  (4 screws) Part number: 86.GCHN2.009
SATA cable is connected to motherboard at yellow circle.

So you are indicating that there is a connector UNDER where the ribbon cable connects?

Per the instructions I was able to install a Seagate 2TB Baracuda drive. Now I have lots of space for Lightroom files.

Hi, I did not understand, the insulating tape type cable must be extracted and instead of that, the sata connector is inserted into the motherboard? And where should the cable be pulled out?
