Yes if it was originally factory installed Win7. Go here https://store.acer.com/en-us/extended/recovery/  About $50. You can order either the USB stick or DVD. Your choice. Jack E/NJ

    Thanks for your reply,
I went to the link and
I get this message "Recovery media is no longer available for the serial number you entered".
I have another version of windows 7  but with another license, but it fails on the install.

When I installed the replacement hard drive, I was able to install the CloudReady chrome OS.  So I guess making it into a "Chrome book" is a good alternative but I would have liked to get things back to original.

    thanks

You can still install the generic Win7 version by making  installation boot stick with Microsoft's media creation tool. http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-recovery   The Windows 7 OEM license is now embedded on your mainboard, not the HDD, so it should install just fine. The ACER drivers can be downloaded from here https://www.acer.com/ac/en/US/content/support-product/3966?b=1  if you find some of the devices don't work properly. Jack E/NJ
