Hi there,
I bought my Acer Aspire on November 2016 and it has been running great until yesterday (February 18, 2019) when it randomly shut off mid way to me clicking print on Microsoft Word and wouldn’t turn back on (black screen, no beeps, fan not moving). I tried the Acer method of using the pinhole reset button on the bottom of the laptop but still no luck.. While plugged in the blue light comes up showing the battery is fully charged and when I press the power button it changes to orange and back to blue but that’s all the laptop does.
When it’s not plugged into the charger there are no lights or sounds whatsoever when I press the power button. With these circumstances I believe the motherboard somehow shorted which would suck since they are pretty pricy with the used motherboards costing more than half the cost of the laptop which I’ve only had for 2 years and a couple months... Is there any other methods I could try to fix my motherboard?? or will I just have to buy a new laptop and move my m.2 256gb ssd to the new one?

any tips or suggestions?

After you connect to charger try to connect to external monitor just to check whether you get a display or not.
If not than i guess might be the problem with battery or the motherboard.
Request you to contact Acer support.

Yeah I tried connecting my external monitor but nothing happens when I press the power button even when it’s charging. I’m 99% sure it’s the motherboard since it seems like it’s not giving power to any of the other components. Do I have any options if it is the motherboard? Not sure what I can do?

Even i guess it should be something related to hardware.
If your unit is under warranty , the best would be sending it for service to Acer repair center. They will fix the issue.
