Hello All,

I would like to know which is the best CPU upgrade for my laptop
Those are my laptop specs at the moment:
AMD Turion 64 x2 tl-50 1.60Gh
Model number     Frequency    L2 cacheHTMulti1  Voltage    TDPSocket

Turion 64 X2 TL-50    1600 MHz     2 × 256 KB  800 MHz       8x         0.8 - 1.1   31 W        Socket S1g1

RAM 4GB
windows 7 Ultimate 64

Is this the only higher specs I can get?
Turion 64 X2 TL-68   2400 MHz    2 x 512 KB   800 MHz  12x  1.075/1.10/1.125 V 35 WSocket S1g1

or could I go up to this ?

Turion II Ultra M660     2700 MHz    2x 1 MB     128-bit     1800 MHz    13.5x     35 W   Socket S1g3

Thanks in advance for any help.

Regards,

Simeone

Well you should be able to use either one but their RAM & HDD access aren't much better and they run hotter. So real world performance won't be too noticeably different based on clock speed alone. If you haven't done so already, you can get a more noticeable bang for the buck by swapping the HDD for an SSD. Hello JackE

    Thanks for your answer.
you are right I have forgotten Tivoli mention, I'm upgrading my HDD to an SSD the samsung one.
So ignore I should be able to use both, I'll try to get the M660.
2 more question if I can..
which would be ideally the Ram that I should reach?
Do you know any way to speedboat up the fan too?
as from the Bios is not possible.
and I have tried few software but even that was a fail.

    thanks,

    Simeone

Advertised max RAM recognized by the BIOS is 2x2GB= 4GB DDR2L 667MHz or higher1.8volts. It ***might*** recognize 2x4GB=8GB but this is NOT guaranteed.  Fan speeds are generally not manually adjustable in these WinVista era machines. If overheating symptoms exist, ie freezing or BSODs or shutdowns, then alternately vacuum air intakes and blow air into air exhausts to remove dust & debris should be tried first.  Jack E/NJ
