Hello everyone,
I decided to reinstall windows by deleting all partitions (including recovery ones) in an attempt to fix the desktop freeze error when you right click.
I did this, because after several attempts of recovering to factory using windows recovery, it didn't solve the problem.
Now, after installing windows pro with my own OEM key through USB, i am stuck with a partially working laptop, where i can't even change my brightness and I'm stuck at 64 Hz refreshrate. I can't change my brightness either.
My model is Acer Swift 3, SF315-51G-554K.
Thank you so much in advance.
- Sudo

    Hello SudoMudo,

I'm assuming you installed 1809.  Some Swift 3 models aren't quite ready for Windows 10 1809......as far as I know.

So if I were in your shoes, I would create a new USB flash drive with Windows 10 1803.  You can get the older iso from link below.

I would recommend using rufus with settings:  UEFI (non-CSM), GPT, FAT32

You can get the Acer Quick Access Application from link below, and update your BIOS if necessary.

    https://www.heidoc.net/joomla/technology-science/microsoft/67-microsoft-windows-and-office-iso-download-tool

Install Windows 10 1803 Home version and then you just change your product key to your pro key.

Edit:  If you forgot to create a USB factory recovery drive, you can get that recovery media from Acer if you'd prefer to just get a factory fresh start instead of vanilla windows 10.

Hello Jordan, thank you very much for your comment.
Yes, i forgot to create a USB factory recovery drive, and would like to just get the recovery media from Acer. I have done most of your steps, but the 'dysfunctional' part of my PC was due to me not having drivers installed, so i went and downloaded the drivers directly from the website. However, it still seems buggy, so I'd much rather just have the factory media. Do i have to contact Acer directly to get the recovery media, or how do i tackle this?

You can contact acer store or visit https://store.acer.com/en-us/ to place the order for recovery media.
