Hi All,

Im currently using acer aspire 3 a315-41-r287 and current bios version is v1.01.

Base from the download link below. Is it safe to update/upgrade my current bios? If so, please advise me which bios version should I choose.

Thanks.

It is safe to update the BIOS, but I wouldn't recommend it, unless you are experiencing bugs with the current BIOS or you need a feature that new BIOS update supports which the current BIOS doesn't.

Before installing the new BIOS make sure the battery is fully charged and device plugged in. Don't disconnect or connect the charger or any USB device during the installation process and don't press any buttons. Failing to follow this may result in bricking the system making it totally unusable.
Always post the following characterisitcs of the device:
    -Model number
    -Part number(not required, but helpful)
    -CPU
    -GPU
    -Operating system

Helios 300 and Nitro 5 users DO NOT update the BIOS to version 1.22 if you don't want the keyboard's backlight to turn off after 30 seconds even when the device is plugged in.

    Hi ven98,

    a315-41-r287 -Model number
    -Part number(not required, but helpful)
    ryzen 3 -CPU
    radeon vega graphics -GPU
windows 10 home single language -Operating system

Reason why I ask because of the disk performance unusual behavior. Like, when I open or close an application e.g. google chrome or windows explorer (windows+E) it consumes a high disk usage and after a couple of minutes it goes down to its normal level.

For this I find it odd that it consumes that much disk usage. Or is it windows 10 which is driving my disk usage nuts?

It could be the windows. I doubt the issue you have is BIOS related.

Download crystadiskmark(run the benchmark and post the results) and crystaldiskinfo to check your drive's health.

How much RAM do you have and how much is used?
