Aspire A515 52g can install with m.2 pcie nvme ssd ?

i plan to upgrade and install the new m.2 nvme ssd in my laptop and i not sure that my laptop model which is aspire a515 52g 58r8 that can compatible and enable to boot up the m.2 nvme ssd or not, some of the information was shows that it cannot compatible with new m.2 nvme ssd. but when i read through the review on aspire 5 a515 52g 58r8 from the website : https://www.notebookcheck.net/Acer-Aspire-5-A515-52G-i5-8265U-MX150-SSD-FHD-Laptop-Review.354441.0.html, its mentioned that can support with pcie 3.0x4 or m.2 sata ssd. is really true and confirm that my laptop model aspire a515 52g 58r8 can 100% successfully to compatible and install with pcie nvme ssd ?

yea it seems the aspire a515 52g can support with nvme ssd but another problem is the bios system for aspire a515 52g can detect and allows to boot up the nvme ssd ? i dun know why somebody says can't compatible with nvme ssd. and also another thing is when i use the userbenchmark to check the compatible ssd list for my laptop which is a515 52g 58r8 model it shows that the motherboard of this laptop model incompatible with samsung 960 nvme ssd pro, i still very confusing yet .....

It's not showing up as a compatible component in Userbenchmark and the reason may be no one has so far installed a M.2 NVMe SSD in this model, you may have to install to find out, I also couldn't find any firm information whether my A515-51 was able to boot with a NVMe SSD, I tried a Samsung 960 Evo and worked without any issues.

reply back for brummy's comment, i have check the bios system in my laptop and the bios system is allow me to change with ACHI or rst with optane , is this two of settings means that can support with m.2 sata and nvme pcie ssd ? and what are the way that can check with correctly wherever my laptop model support sata ssd only or allow to support with pcie nvme ssd ?

btw, i really wants to complain the acer because they never list out the m.2 ssd supported format like sata or nvme for the laptop model in the user manual.

if will happens with this kind of problem when i install nvme ssd in my laptop aspire 515 52g ?

Hi,
Yes, the models with AMD chipsets have problem with NVMe/PCIe SSDs but as you have a Intel based system, I think you may install a NVMe SSD but as I have mentioned in my previous post, I haven't come across anyone who has already installed a NVMe SSD.

ok brummy thanks for you to reply the answer, i think i should better to test with myself wherever can compatible with nvme ssd or not. if really can't compatible with my laptop, then i try to exchange back to the m.2 sata ssd.

hi sorry to disturbing you as i still no buy nvme ssd yet, i haven't try to set the nvme ssd as the system drive to fast boot up the windows 10 in my laptop.

i found another user have install nvme ssd in a515 52g 54ts seems this laptop model similar with my laptop which is a515 52g 58r8 but when he set the nvme ssd as the windows 10 os drive, will occur with many issues as what like he says

the problem as he said is when he used the ADATA XPD GAMMIX S5 256GB sdd to boot up windows 10, it occur the issues like blinking screen or broken drivers, and also he mention that when the OS was been installed on nvme SSD with his laptop, the bios was got stuck on exit.

isn't means that his laptop model a515 52g similiar with my own one not compatible with nvme ssd ? or maybe that is normal situation when install with nvme ssd ? or maybe i misunderstand what does he mention about that

As you seem to have a very good knowledge of this system and it's potential for upgrading.

Trying to determine what pieces are needed to install a 2nd HD into my system (A515-52G). I already have a 1TB SSD (Samsung Nano 860 EVO). but a confused on what type of mounting kit and wiring harness is required to connect to the drive. All the websites are silent on what you would exactly need "they just say you need the hardware". I would just like to order xxx mounting bracket and xxx wiring harness (but have no idea of what I should be asking for). I know that my ASUS bracket had a different configuration from this system. Thanks in advance.

Successfully installed a 250Gb Kingston A2000 M.2 NVME SSD in my Acer Aspire A515-52G-52GT. Settings in bios must be set to AHCI instead of RST with Optane so that your other drive (HDD or 2.5'' SSD) can be detected by disk management in windows.
