Hello.
I have a problem with my Predator G9-791-707N.
He shut himself up during use without being able to restart again. We followed the 30 sec reset steps, disconnected from the power supply for 5 minutes. I restarted it, but it does not display anything on the display, so I plugged it through HDMI to an external monitor and it works very little time to freeze and returns itself after about 30 seconds but without displaying anything even on the display and not on the external monitor.
Please if you can get a little help.
Thank you.

Hi did u updated your bios recently or did windows updated your bios (as for some models its rolling with windows updates which i don't recommend it happened in a few cases windows updated bricked the laptops while updating bios that's why i have mine permanently disabled) try the same procedure but this time leave it off for more time for ex 20 mnts and see if you are able to boot into bios and reset bios setup defaults if not plug in the external screen and reset through there see if it solves it.

In case you are able to open it without loosing warranty (only if you don't have any seals and if you have authorization from the shop where you bought it that you could open it to upgrade your ssd for ex if any doubt always contact the shop where you bought it first as they have their own internal warranty policies) disconnect the cmos battery and try to boot see if the screen comes on if so shut down and reconnect cmos again and reset bios setup defaults if none of these work check if your internal display cable is loose either in the mobo port or the display itself lastly it might be a faulty display cable/display itself/or worst rare cases the display port in the mobo hope any of this helps :)

We also followed the procedure https://community.acer.com/en/discussion/533643/predator-791-screen-went-black-and-now-wont-turn-on-again/p1 and all the same 5-10 minute runs and then flips the external display and resumes without displaying anything.

The worst part is that in November 2018 the warranty expired :(
Oh the warranty expired that's not good i would maybe take it to a reliable repair shop or even contact acer support for maybe a quote to what might be the issue because as i said it could be a simple issue like a damage cable/screen or a serious issue with the mobo itself and mobo its motherboard

PS: since warranty already expired i would disassemble it and verify everything cable connectors display etc... i would even try a repaste and clean the fans and airflow exit while doing it also test the memory take it out swap slots one by one and test it again after just make sure to screw everything properly as it has pressure switches in the memory bay and may have in some other places of the chassis it might also be tripping due to thermal issues it can be anything just try everything before sending it to anyone after all options gone contact someone either acer or someone else

Thanks xapim for your quick response.

BIOS update was made 4 months ago, updated to Windows for a few days but nothing bad happened. Yesterday when it happened to stop after all the steps you followed to reanimate, I noticed that the battery was 53% but did not load. Finally, I let him rest for overnight, and this morning I restarted him to see if he was ok.
It only shows on the external monitor and not on the laptop display this for a maximum of 10 minutes, I noticed that now the battery is charged but freezing and restarts without displaying anything on any display either external or custom.

Well if you already tried everything as the issue still persists i would guess there is something seriously wrong with the mobo might even be faulty i would contact the shop where you bought or acer itself it for warranty repair/replacement

Thank you very much for your help xapim.
I checked all the components, I followed the elimination path, and at the end I reached the display cable. I opened the display and noticed the plug in the display was not properly pushed into the socket, I repositioned the socket correctly and now everything is perfect.
Once again thank you xapim for your help and guidance.
