I’m trying to figure out if I have two machines and one board fails, when I swap the working board into the other, the serial number in the bios of the working board needs to be changed correct? Can it be changed to match the original machine, the one that it is now in? Or is it locked forever once it has the serial info branded onto it?

You can swap the board just fine. Serial number is irrelevant. Jack E/NJ

The serial number will follow the motherboard, I believe.
