Hi Acer fellows,

Since this morning my Acer Predator 15 wouldnt work without the Power plug. So i kept using it as usual until I found a procedure to solve it here. I did unplug the power cable, pressed the pin hole button for a few seconds and finally let the laptop rest for 15minutes.
After that, the laptop woulndt boot properly anymore. Black screen, keyboard lights work and There is also this orange led on the touchpad button which is normally red.
I then took out the battery from the laptop... Still the same problem.

I add that my warranty for the latop just expired a few months ago... I am desperate.
Thx for your help guys.

Luke.

As i said try get the cmos battery out after the power drain procedure and try to boot it without it see what happens and then insert the cmos battery in again and do the same the cmos battery saves the bios settings like time date and any alteration done after if you still have a black screen after check the display cable connector withe on the mobo side and in the screen itself might be loose or faulty and also the screen might be faulty itself no way to know unless tested in another device usually the power drain fixes the black screen issues but it might be more serious than that

Did u reset bios setup defaults after the battery power drain i would try it again press it for at least 30s and let it rest for a minimum of 10 mnts or more then load bios setup defaults to see if it solved it if that doesn't help repeat it again but take out the cmos battery you would have to disassemble it in order to do that but u sated u took the battery out so you already opened it lave the battery in and plugged as it might not even boot without it plugged in if you manage to boot into windows you can get your battery report via cmd admin mode (powercfg /batteryreport) the html report will be on windows/system32 you might have a bad battery as you stated it wouldn't work without AC and please post the full model and specs
