I have a SF114-32 Swift 1 laptop.  I saw on Youtube and forums that an additional hard drive can be added.

I removed my cover and I see the slot for the drive, but there is no ribbon cable or screw to hold the module in place.   If ribbon cable is not present, does this mean I cannot install this drive?
Are there some of these laptops that cannot be upgraded like that?

Thank you.

    Hi,
Yo can install a M.2 SATA SSD, you don't need a SATA cable but you have to buy a screw to secure it.
Part number for M.2 SSD is:KN.2560G.022
                                             KN.25604.039
    Part number for screw:86.M42N1.002
    Example:https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B078WQC2GQ/ref=twister_B078YVQ3RB?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1

Mine shows up just fine, and this is my second SF114-32 unit I'm on. I'm about to get my third and so far I haven't had any issues with my Micron M510. Maybe the Samsung SSDs are finicky with this particular laptop. They should NOT be, but I've been documenting some odd findings from this model and its not what I expected. This is the first time I've heard of a SATA SSD not be recognized by the hardware, here I though it was just the NVME SSDs.

Thank you, this information is valuable and much appreciated.  I have one question, the part number provided for the screw - what company is that ordered from?

    Hi,
You have to search on line but I would suggest you to go to a hardware store or a local laptop repair shop and look for it, you can also contact Acer Support centre in your region to find out the details of any retailers near you.

@Windowsfree - here's my SATA M.2 Micron M510 128GB for reference. FYI, only SATA drives seem to work in the SF114-32.

Ok, I ordered the ttps://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B078WQC2GQ/ref=twister_B078YVQ3RB?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1, as suggested.  I found a screw that I could use for retention and installed the drive.  Windows or BIOS does not recognize the drive.
    Any suggestions?

    Thank you
