Hi guys,

1st post, I'm trying to find out why the Predator Helios 500 Amd varient is no longer in stock to purchase in the UK.

Has it been pulled from the UK market or is it just in short supply?

Also how does the AMD version rate compared to the Intel i7 version?
looking at benchmark sites the GPU and CPU rates much higher than the Intel.
I would use the laptop for general/gaming purposes.

Any help much appreciated.

For gaming purposes go for the intel version for rendering works the ryzen its the best plus the ryzen only has one nvme and the intel both slots are nvme regarding not being available i think it might be because not to many ryzen were made maybe acer thought they wouldn't have too much demand for the ryzen version as they are really hard to find anywhere

Thanks for a quick reply, the Vega scored higher in benchmarking by quite a bit compared to the GTX1070.
I'm absolutely no expert so maybe I'm reading the wrong Information, this is also good news as I can get one immediately.

The Intel is currently £1799.99 ($2300+) I can get 8% off that price through my work but would you say that price is likely to go down any time soon? Especially with the RTX coming in laptops soon.

Im not a hard core gamer by any stretch of the imagination but I'm wanting to buy a laptop with as much longevity as possible which is what drew me to this specific one, it is slightly stretching my budget which was around £1300 when I began looking. I was looking at the MSI Gp73 leopard and the HP omen 17 An107na, both are a bit closer to my budget but only have 120hz screen. would you recommend paying the extra for the Helios?

    Cheers for any advice.
Definitely yes you will end up with the best cooling system around and a powerful beast which is already powerful on stock but with some tweaks to it it becomes a monster and yes the vega scores high but it has been tested to be better for rendering works that might be one of the reazons they only implemented 1nvme in that model they might have thought it wasn't going to have much demand but on the other way the ryzen cpu is upgradeable its not soldered like he intel it's socketed and will support the next gen apu so the 2 models have their pros and cons it's up to you to decide :).

Regarding the rtx not sure if they will implement rtx on H500 neither on H300 because they have already have them on the Triton 500 and 900 they might make a more budget rtx version but not sure if it will be helios they might just create the triton 300 lol and rtx ray tech will take at least 2 to 3 more years to be fully developed and implemented in games so i don't think it's worth it to jump on it right now a 1070/1080 is more than enough for the next 2 to 3 years even my 1050ti will have to last me at least 7 years minimum :p but yeah the prices will be coming a bit down hopefully when they release the new tritons anyway hope this helps
