Helios 500 GPU overclocking and cool boost

If i'm right setting the GPU to turbo in the predator sense software would give it the highest overclock provided by predator sense but i heard some people saying that turning on cool boost gives even higher clock speeds. But from the temps i'm getting with auto fans and cool boost off i'm averaging 60 - 78C so there should be no thermal throttling so in this case cool boost would not improve the GPU clock speeds if i'm right?

If the GPU is only hitting 78*C, coolboost would only help to make you feel better. The GPU doesn't care.  :) Jack E/NJ

Nop as @JackE stated and very well the coolbost feature it's to control the fans speed only according to the gpu/cpu temps if high temps the higher the fans spin and under 40-42 on cpu/gpu the fans stop completely as the temps are very low and do not require the fans to cool it and kick back again when it rises up,coolboost has nothing to do with the clock speeds either on gpu neither cpu regarding the clock speeds you cant overclock the cpu it's factory locked by intel the only you can overclock its the gpu either with the PS default settings or eve pushing it a bit higher (might not even work) with msi AB in order to find that sweet spot there is also the option to undervolt the gpu on msi AB to lower the gpu temps using the curve and the gpu hitting 78 its not bad but it can be improved mine only hits 65-69 +-it also depends on the gpu you have but i think you should have it much more cooler after all its an H500 with the best cooling system around you definitely shouldn't be hitting those temps on the gpu in my personal view

Addressing the GPU specifically, if it's Pascal (GTX 10-series, etc), your sweet spot is really anything below 63C. That is the temperature your core clock begins to step down from it's max boost clock. When you fluctuate between 60-78C you lose some performance from the card stepping the core clock down as the temperatures rise. In this case, enabling Cool Boost allows the heatsink fans to spin at a slightly higher RPM than they ship default and cool the laptop more efficiently at the cost of louder acoustics. It is only a few degrees difference overall, but there is a difference with CoolBoost. IF you're at anything above 63C, it would benefit you to enable CoolBoost in my opinion.
