in the image below, how long did it take for the machine to shut down after disconnecting the charger? Jack
    It's like four hours
Your report here suggests the problem is intermittent. Sometimes the battery charges. Sometimes it won't. The slow 5x blinking orange indicator that you mentioned earlier could either mean a battery problem and a mainboard charging circuit problem. I think you should try a new battery. Google "your full model number" and "battery" with the quotes to find a vendor/seller that's near you. Jack E/NJ

One more thought. If your model has a battery reset pinhole on the bottom of the laptop, I would try to gently insert and withdraw a paper clip into the hole several times to clean the contacts on the battery reset switch. Jack E/NJ

Well, before you go ahead and buy, I suggest you go to a nearby repair center and tell them that your battery is not charging properly and ask them to insert a new one and, check if the new one is charging properly or not. If it does, then go ahead with the battery like said before but, if the new battery has the same problem then don't buy the battery and go to a nearest service center and tell the about the problem. You'll get it fixed soon, hopefully.
By the way, ask them if they can manage to repair your motherboard cuz, if they can, you could probably save a lot of money on a motherboard for a laptop that is not even that old.

    Good Luck pal!
