My Swift 3 came with a 1 TB Hard Drive. I duplicated a Samsung 860 Pro 512 GB V-NAND SSD. I'm unable to access the BIOS from POST. I can only access the BIOS using Settings>Recovery. I enabled accessing the boot menu using F12 during POST in the BIOS.  I can access the boot menu using F12 during post when the original hard drive is in but when I swap the drives the PC boots to the Acer splash screen and stops. I cannot access boot menu using F12 when the SSD is plugged in.

I'm not sure why my SSD will not boot. I do not know why I cannot access BIOS during POST. I do not know why F12 during POST only brings up boot menu with Hard drive and not SSD. I'm afraid to make any BIOS changes if I can only access the BIOS when Windows boots. I'm worried if I make a change to say the Sata Mode I wont be able to get past the Splash screen effectively bricking my new PC.

Thoughts?

    Hi Connam06,
Please try to update the BIOS firmware for the computer and check if its fixes the issue.
You can go to following link to get the latest bios firmware

Boot the machine with the old HDD. Open Control Panel. Search 'button'. Click 'choose what the power buttons do' in the left pane. Click 'show setting not currently available'. Scroll down the list and uncheck 'fast startup' to disable 'fast boot'. Shut down machine. Turn machine back on and ***immediately*** start tapping the F2 key to enter the BIOS menu. Do NOT wait for the ACER logo splash screen to appear.

    (1)  If you can now enter the BIOS menu this way then make sure the F12 and D2D options are enabled in the Main tab.
    (2) Then set a supervisor password in the Security tab.
    (3) Then press F10 to save settings and exit. Let the machine boot normally. Then shut down again.
    (4) Then re-enter the BIOS menu using your supervisor password.
    (5) Turn off secure boot using the Boot and/or Security tabs
    (6) F10 to save settings and exit again. Let machine boot normally.

Then shut down again to prepare for installing the 860. But before doing this, how did you duplicate the 1TB HDD on to the smaller 512GB 860?
