Acer suggested that I post here about my friend’s vintage working computer that needs a battery (CMOS)? Replacement. This computer has been working for 26 years! Never replaced the battery so not sure if there is a battery that it can use which is compatible. Any help would be appreciated.

about the serial number, normally you can retrieve it on BIOS.
Press Del key at boot and look at the main tab, you can find the model too.

Thank you. The next step is to find some documentation on this ancient computer. My friend has misplaced the manual and the floppy disc with the OS on it. I was hoping someone at Acer would have information about this PC. When I look online I've not found anything about this computer. We were trying to find the serial number and didn't see it on the CPU.

Thank you! Once I find out the model number I will try and find a pdf of the operating manual. Also need the system diskette. I assume that was on a floppy.

My friend tried pressing Delete(?) and it didn’t work. Should he “press and hold” the delete key while it is booting up or before it boots up?

no press and hold but continue to tap it just after pressing the power button.
Del or Delete key, it's the same

I will let him know. He did say when he pressed it the HD made A lot of noise. Also when he boots up he gets an error notice that says Ram Parity Error Press ESC to turn off NMI. will changing the battery make a difference?

He did the tapping and it kept telling him to press the F1 key. When he did, it would ask to reboot.

I would try to change the battery, is cheap.
That kind of parity error can be the battery.

Since the AcerPower Pentium 1 is 26 years old is there a battery in 2019 that would be the same voltage and compatible?

As i told you CR2032 is the needed model and is still used on 2019 PCs.
