Hi all,

Just purchased a Acer Swift 1 sf113-31-p5ck laptop. I want to add a Crucial MX500 256GB 3D NAND SATA M2 2280SS SSD to the laptop.

What I want to do is remove Windows 10 from the eMMC 64GB storage and reinstall it on the SSD, effectively wiping the eMMC storage completely. Keep in mind, the eMMC storage is soldered onto the motherboard and cannot be removed.

How do I do this? Is it as simple as putting Windows 10 on a thumb drive and rebooting into recovery? Or are there extra steps?

Thanks!

Follow the instructions from the link to help you wipe the windows from the eMMC drive and install it on the SSD using windows installation media or recovey drive.

Always post the following characterisitcs of the device:
    -Model number
    -Part number(not required, but helpful)
    -CPU
    -GPU
    -Operating system

Helios 300 and Nitro 5 users DO NOT update the BIOS to version 1.22 if you don't want the keyboard's backlight to turn off after 30 seconds even when the device is plugged in.

    Hi Pilotflight 89,
     Please follow these steps.
First you need to have a USB stick with the windows 10 on it.
If you dont have one create a recovery drive using media creation tool.
    Ones that it done.
    1.Plug-in the USB recovery drive
2.Press the power button onetime and keep tapping F12 in order to enter the boot menu.If the boot menu doesn't appear, go to BIOS(press F2 at boot) and from 'BOOT' tab enable the F12 boot menu, then press F10 and enter to save and exit. Now the F12 menu will be available. From the menu select the USB drive as a boot drive.
    3. The system will now boot from the USB drive.
