Hi Granny here.
Been given NEW Acer Chromebook 14 CB3-431 just two days ago.
BIG learning curve from Win 10.
This Q.. Volume buttons are NOT working but very low, and will not increase OR even completely trying to MUTE.Using the three buttons on top right of keyboard.
Any advice appreciated.

    1.    Turn off your Chromebook.

    2.  Press Refresh  and the power button together for 10 sec and than check(you can find the refresh key in the first row 4th key which has a circle like arrow) But while doing this you might lose your offline data.

As I mentioned in my other post, RESOLVED  Doh!!

Unticked " Treat top row as''F'keys."
As Volume is on top row, they are now working as intended.

Thank you so much Jack for such a quick reliable answer. That was so helpful to also tell me where to find the refresh.

and an so pleased to now hear the sound.Really appreciated.Am sure I will be back , but am enjoying the challenge of Chromebook.

Incidentally is it just me or does anyone else miss seeing a visual light on the button?

The fourth key from the ESC key is the refresh. It looks like a semi circle with a arrow
