I have a Predator G9-593 and I want to replace the 2*128GB SSDs with 2*Samsung 970 Evos 512GBs in RAID 0 and I have followed some help articles on the acer site as well as youtube. I just cant find anyway to access the intel RAID setup during boot (How did the guys who originally put this together function without that?). I tried to change the BIOS setting from AHCI to legacy and reboot but all it does it repeat the network boot over and over, Ctrl-i does not seem to work and just gives an error sound. Does anyone out there have any guides, information or limitations as to this situation?

Thanks for your time.

Is someone going to help me or am I on my own? Acer support said they wouldn't/couldn't help me and this is the only place I can turn to.

Is it possible to rebuild the RAID array with new drives or do I need a special tool/utility to make that work?
If I took my 2*SSDs out and put 2* new SSDs, will it preserve the raid setting so they will just work on boot just like the previous 2?

Can someone help me at all with any of this, it doesn't seem to be a simple process and I've heard of other laptops/machines having access to the RAID building utility...

It isn't complicated. The BIOS is locked, so there is no option to change from RAID to AHCI and the other way around. If you remove the 970 evos the RAID 0 array will be broken and you have to recreate it when you install the 2 new SSDs. In order to recreate the RAID 0 you can do this:

Install windows in just one of the SSDs, then using intel rapid storage technology you can set up the raid 0 between the drives.
Always post the following characterisitcs of the device:
    -Model number
    -Part number(not required, but helpful)
    -CPU
    -GPU
    -Operating system

Helios 300 and Nitro 5 users DO NOT update the BIOS to version 1.22 if you don't want the keyboard's backlight to turn off after 30 seconds even when the device is plugged in.

Personally i wouldn't use raid 0 its too risky if one of the drives fail (and yes the ssd's also fail not only normal hdd's) or the raid breaks you will loose everything but everyone is free to do whatever they feel like

Well I am not working with very sensitive data. Anything I don't want to lose I back up on multiple locations.

I will try your technique when the parts come ven98.

Myg? did you ever get your NVMe RAID working? From all other posts it seems that the second M2 (top B key port) is SATA only. if so, what model NVMe drives did you use?

    Nah, I didn't.

Thanks! Iwas thinking about doing the same with NVMEs but now I'll just have to do a clean install with a single NVME. Still, SHOULD be faster.
