Extra hard drive for Aspire E5-575G-5671

Hello Acer Community,

I've been asked by my cousin to help him expand the storage on his Aspire E 15 (E5-575G-5671).

This is a computer with an i5-6200U CPU, a GTX 950M GPU and 6GB of DDR4 Memory. It already has a 128GB SSD installed, however I've not been able to meet up with him to open it and see if it uses an M.2 SSD, and if so, if it has space for an extra 2.5" HDD. I've not worked with Acer laptops before either, and there seems to be quite a lot of E5-575G models out there, and I was wondering if there was a way to figure out the internals of this very specific laptop before meeting up and actually opening it, as I'd like to order the hard drive as soon as possible. I find no information online about the E5-575G-5671 model specifically.

Again, my goal is simply to figure out if an ST1000LM048 hard drive will fit, and fit without taking out the SSD.

Hello,

Sorry for the delay and thanks for the motherboard serial number. So you could intall an additional HDD but you'll need these parts:

42.GDEN7.002 - HOLDER.HDD
86.TDY07.003 - SCREW M3*0.5 3.5 I (Qty=4 to fix Holder/HDD)

The HDD connector is directly soldered to the motherboard:

Hello,

I think your cousin owns an E5-575G-567J. The best way is to know the first ten characters of the motherboard serial number:

Run Windows Powershell as Adminstrator
Type the command wmic baseboard get serialnumber and [Enter]
Note the first ten characters
Type Exit to quit Powershell

Yep, my error, the J looked very much like a 1 in the image I was sent!

As far as I can tell, the E5-575G-567J has an SSD in it's 2.5" spot, and adding an HDD would require switching out this SSD. Am I correct in that assumption?

No, this model was shipped with an M.2 2280 SSD of 128GB but I would need the first ten to check for an additional HDD.

The serial number is NBGDZ11002626079FE7600

The name of the SSD already installed is Kingston rbu-sns8152s3128gg2
