How to remove CMOS battery on back of motherboard on Acer Aspire E5-575G-5341

Randomly just shuts down on me. There isn't any physical damage done to the motherboard or anything. It was just plugged into the laptop, and then died. Since then, the laptop hasn't even turned on. Originally, the laptop wasn't receiving any power at all which was indicated by the light LED on the bottom. I also tried opening the laptop, removing the battery, removing the AC adaptor, and holding the power button anywhere from 30-120 seconds. Still nothing.

However, after putting the battery back together, I clicked the battery reset pinhole on the back, and now it is finally accepting a charge. GREAT. But the problem still is the fact that the laptop still isn't turning on when pressing the power button. I also want to note that the power button is on the keyboard (not sure if that makes a difference, but i really don't know). I also tried removing the RAM, nothing. Tried switching the RAM, nothing. I also tried unplugging everything from the motherboard, all IO ports, keyboard, display, power jack, and plugging them back in. Still nothing. I also tried removing the battery, and only plugging in the AC adaptor, still nothing when pressing power button.

Next thing to do is to try to remove the CMOS battery on the other side of the motherboard. But, I don't know how. There's a huge plastic lip covering one side of the battery and there's two clips on the other side. Is it even removable?

    Hi Samc45,
Here is how to open the battery from the machine.

Also try to do a bios default. This may fix the issue.
Do try  performing BIOS default now.
    Steps to follow.
    1) Press and hold power button to make sure all lights are off.
2)Now press power button just ones and keep tapping F2 (tap,tap)about 10-15 times till the bios screen  loads up.
    3) Ones in BIOS, Press F9 one time and hit enter.
    4) Press F10 one time and hit enter.
This will restart your computer  .
Let me know if This fixes the issue

    Thanks for reply Kamalika.

But, I can't even get it to start at all. I haven't gotten to the BIOS or any other signs of power. I tried what you said as well. Still nothing.

Also I already took out the CMOS battery and put it back, hoping to reset the BIOS. Nope. Still not turning on.

I'm just gonna take it to the repair shop. If it's more than the buying price, i'm just gonna get my SSD and HDD and toss the system in the dumpster, or recycle it.

    Hi samc45,
Thanks for the response.  It does look like a hardware issue to me. Please check with acer for repair options.
