Crucial P1 3D NAND NVMe PCIe M.2 SSD (CT1000P1SSD8) compatible with Aspire TC-780_W Tower PC?

Hi,

Can anyone confirm if they've tried a Crucial P1 3D NAND NVMe PCIe M.2 SSD (CT1000P1SSD8) in an Acer Aspire TC-780_W Tower PC and if so, did it work O.K?

P.S. I've installed HWiNFO64, run it and expanded Bus, expanded PCI Bus, expanded PCI Express Root Ports and found Root Ports with 1x and 1x values for Maximum Link width...

Hi,
The slot is compatible with both types of M.2 SSD, so you can install a M.2 SATA SSD, the corresponding pins in the slot to the second gap in the SSD will stay dormant(unused) when you install a M.2 SATA SSD.

Thanks for the help brummyfan2 - I have one more question.  The M.2 SATA SSD Samsung example in your links has two (what I believe is referred to as) ‘keys’ in the board (each end of the copper contacts).  When I look at the unused M.2 connector on the motherboard, it has only one key - does that matter i.e will the M.2 SATA SSD still fit and work OK?
