Does anyone know where I can find the Elantech Win10 touchpad utility that came preinstalled on my Aspire 717-72G?  I accidentally removed it and I'd like to reinstall it but can't find it on Acer's site, nor Elantech's.  Note that I'm not referring to the driver (found that), but to the software program.  Thank you.

  • Hi,
If you have a Precision touchpad, you won't have any Elan settings, if that's what you are after, could you please go to Device manager, expand "Mice and other pointing devices" and "Human Interface Devices", post the snip.

That's partly what I'm after.  Here's the snip

  • Your touchpad is a Precision touchpad, I have no knowledge of Elantech utility you have mentioned, have you tried the Settings and then under Devices tile?

    Hello Brummyfan2???
Pleeease can you help me with my Acer Aspire ES1-512 precision touchpad issue that has been ongoing for over 6 months now ? I upgraded TO Windows 10 when it was free from pre-install 8.1, instantly my touchpad settings vanished. Theres absolutely no evidence that it existed anywhere on my notebook apart from the physical touchpad that you can see. nothing in device manager, no touchpad settings under the tab you have shown above. Im using a usb mouse since, I have since discovered that its a Elan precision touch pad, in the device manager under mouse & pointing devices it says usb device which is clearly the external usb I have plugged in. I have tried to download numerous Elantech input drivers but not really sure what to do with them, in product description on this Acer website it says my Acer Aspire is a 64bit but when I try to install anything windows tells me that I cant as this is a 32bit processor. I'm not very technically savvy as you can see!!
Any kind of help or information on this would be most appreciated
    much thanks :3

    Hi,
Have you  tried switching to Advanced mode in BIOS? If not, go to BIOS, move to Main tab and check whether the touchpad is in Basic mode, if it is, then switch to Advanced mode and see whether it helps.
