can i upgrade directly 32 to 64 for Acer Aspire E1 - 531

OS : WINDOWS 7 PROFESSIONAL 
BIT : 32 can update 64
ok don't tell me buy a new one i don't have money to afford new one even if i have a money to buy there are others things which is important to me so 
i am about to update my 32 bit to 64 bit when i came to this acer site for required drivers there was Windows  8 64-bit [upgrade from Windows 7] 
i was about to update directly to Windows 8.1 64 bit because of that now i have a question to you who ever read my this question please help me
should i update first Windows 8 and then only i can update my laptop to Windows 8.1 in advance thank you for you're time Sir/Mam

    If it was mine, I'd update to Win7-64 now if possible. Then if maintenance support for Win7 ends in 2020, I'd either try to update directly to Win8.1-64 or Linux Mint. Jack E/NJ
