Hey,

My laptop: Acer Aspire Timelinex 3830t-2314G50nbb
Model: P3MJ0
Mfg date: 1106

Bios updated to: v1.12

Old CPU: Intel Core i3-2310M
New CPU: Intel Core i7-2670QM (used)

I am able to enter the Bios, but the CPU is not detected properly :-/ "CPU Genuine Intel (R) CPU         0   @ 2.00GHz"
also the laptop is not able to boot into Win or Linux..

Is there a newer version of Bios?
Can I compile my own Bios? (I am used to compiling U-boot and Kernels, so I guess i could give it a try with Intel SDK and a board config file?)
What to do?

BR Boris

While the chipset supports quads, the mainboard itself was designed to handle only 35watt CPUs and thus power consumption may be an issue. Jack E/NJ
