Pretty new here.  Only have my laptop for a couple months. Acer Predator Helios 300 G3-571.  I've noticed that in device manager that the Nvidia driver version number is different than the version numbers from GeForce experience.  Are these drivers the same? Should I be using one or the other? Do I have duplicate drivers? Should I disable Acer's Nvidia driver?  I'm a little confused, and have searched extensively.  I might not be asking right. I hope I can get some help here.  Thanks!

  • Hi,
You should use the display adapter drivers provided by Acer, these drivers are designed to work with Acer systems, the drivers provided by GeForce are general drivers meant for variety of laptops, they may work but I would prefer Acer drivers.

Ok, that's good to know, thanks.  But I have both installed(I think).  Should I uninstall the GeForce experience drivers?
  • Hi,
If the driver was installed by the system, don't uninstall it, GeForce experience is the software installed originally, so leave it alone.

There's no harm in updating NVidia drivers from GeForce Experience. I have been doing it since the time I got my laptop. If you play new games, you should update your graphics driver only from GeForce Experience.
Trying to do my best here - Your happy Predator owner =)!
