M480 BIOS

My M480 is suffering from BSOD problems and other reliability issues that may be caused by several recent power outages.
I've reinstalled Windows but the problems are still there but not as frequent. I've thoroughly tested the disks and reinstalled drivers and now I'm wondering if the BIOS might have been corrupted, as Windows and the BIOS aren't initialising all HDDs and occasionally don't see a USB drive.
The installed BIOS is V3 but the latest BIOS on the Acer Support Download page is V2.
Where might I get the V3 BIOS or would it be OK to flash V2?
Where might V3 have come from, any ideas?

Sorry to quote the wrong BIOS versions in my above post. My installed version is P02.A3 dated 05/22/2011 and noted as exclusive to Acer Inc.

The Acer support downloads page has P02.A2 as the latest version.

As my PC is a refurbished corporate desktop, could it be that it was built with a custom BIOS - if I revert to the current latest (P02.A2) would I'd be back in the mainstream?  I'm hoping that's the case and maybe my problems stem from a cut down custom BIOS as opposed to the original factory standard version?

    Thoughts anyone?
