I recently purchased my acer aspire 5552 (6/13/11-Online at Tiger Direct). naturally my warranty has expired and my hard drive went bad last month. I spent $65.00 for a diagnosis to determine what was wrong. I then took my laptop to my local Tiger Direct store (Euless,TX) and they confirmed that the hard drive was defective. I had them replace my hard drive and OS (Win-7) costing another $194.00. The laptop has been running fine since then, however I just recieved a message that all windows options will be terminated in 13 days if I do not provide a Product Key #. I know the Product Key # is posted on the bottom of the laptop, but my concern is, what or who do I contact if that Product Key does not work?

I recommend you load Acer's OEM version of Windows. It does not need a product key to activate. The product key on your system will not be able to activate whatever version of Windows was installed. To order recovery disks, please visit our Acer Store and click on eRecovery.
