I use a nitro an515 51 everyday for gaming about 3-4 hours. I prop it up on its edges to allow more air into the vents under the laptop. I always external keyboard and mouse. Also use low graphics settings and 720p to minimize load. After a year of such use it has showed no signs of slowing or performance issues. I want to know how many years it will last if I keep this routine up. By lasting I mean games should be playable even then(little lower performance is acceptable). I am talking about current type of games, not the more demanding ones that will come out in future.

Your machine should operate just fine at higher temperatures and loads without any life degradation. As long as you don't see performance slowdown such as lower FPS during game play, frame freezing or shutdowns, it's lifetime should be the same as at lower loads. You can safely set your Control Panel power plan to high performance without worry of a shorter life. Jack E/NJ
