using a wireless mouse with a chromebook

When using a wireless mouse with an Acer Chromebook 15, each time the machine is put to sleep, the mouse no longer works upon wake up.  It requires  the user to remove the adapter from the USB port and replace it. The problem is, the user is 88 years old and does not have the desire or ability to do tht each time. What do you suggest in order to have the mouse work consistently?

Try changing the Power setting to never sleep.  Convenience will come at the expense of battery longevity.
