I have an Aspire E-576G, with a backlit keyboard. Fn+F9 is supposed to toggle the backlight, and when I first got it it worked, but now the backlight is on and toggling it does not work. Any solutions?

Uninstalling drivers didn't work. All other Fn keys work fine, it's just this one that doesn't.

The F9 key on my Chromebook is to lower volume.  Test the functioning of the F9 alone. If it is non-responsive, consider cleaning under F9.

My F9 key has the keyboard light icon on it, and it used to work to turn the light on and off. But now it doesn't, and I'm not sure why.

Additionally, I know the F9 key itself works (I'm able to use it in a game for an unrelated task).

Could you try system restore and check if the recent updates caused this issue.

Tried it, didn't work. Only result was it stopped booting and I had to reset Windows.

Seems like several people are having a similar problem. Is there some possible software problem?
