Hello, I'm new here and this is my first question, please help me. My laptop was working fine, and after some updates the keyboard light is gone, I tried using Fn+F9 and F9 without Fn but this doesn't work! If its because of the BIOS could you make a new version to repair this issue, or could I downgrade it ! thanks in advance

OK. Let's try this first. Open Control Panel. Search restore point. Click create restore point in the left panel. Then click system restore button. Next. Looksfor an auto restore point around the day you lost the light.  Jack E/NJ

Too late. That restore point would probably have been overwritten already. Are you absolutely sure this was due to the updates? Because it may simply be due to the KB backlight connector coming loose from the mainboard.  I ask because of the risks involved in trying to change the BIOS firmware or restore to an earlier point.   Jack E/NJ

I'm not so sur but I do remember that it happened after an important updates in Windows and after that update the keyboard light has turned off so when I updated the BIOS, I was expecting a result, but nothing happened. If its too risky to downgrade BIOS (just for test) lets forget about it and seek for another way.

We could try to reset it to factory fresh or near-factory fresh while saving your personal files using the ALT+F10 cold boot method. Then let the updates roll in again till the offending one turns the lights out again. Then temporarily block that update from re-installing. Jack E/NJ

you mean reinstall Windows? If yes, so my programs are going to dissappear right?

A partial or near-factory reset will try to save you files. However, with either a full or partial factory reset, you should make a backup first before trying it. Jack E/NJ

I've reinstalled Windows 10 and the keyboard light hasn't turned on yet! I'm now doing a large amount of updates what should I do next?

At this point, the only ways to rule in or rule out a hardware issue, like a loose or dirty KB light connector, is to either disassemble and remove the keyboard in order to reseat the connector or do a full factory-fresh reset. Jack E/NJ

I don't have any idea where to find the connector or how to remove the keyboard is there any guide or video to do it?

The mainboard connector and wires are directly under the keyboard. Google "F5-573G" "disassembly" with the quotes. The E5 and F5-5xx series are similarly constructed so you might have to watch multiple videos and instructions for the entire job. Be forewarned that, in addition to screws, the take-apart/pry-apart in general will likely result in a few broken plastic clips that hold the case pieces and boards together. Nothing that electrician's tape and color-coordinated duct tape can't handle.  Jack E/NJ

As an aside, some models have backlit KBs with a built-in ambient light sensor. The backlight won't turn on till ambient light reaches fairly low levels. You might want to see if the backlight turns on in a darkened room. Jack E/NJ
