Greetings Dear Acer Community:

First of all  I used the search to find out my questions, I have found some answers but I am not sure if the model and series is the same with this notebook:

Acer Notebook nitro pro 5 AN515-52-70WU-PE   - S/N: ************************

(Edited by Acer-Harvey)

RMN: N17C1                                                     - Windows 10 Home Single Language
P/N: NH.Q4AAL.021                                          -
W10HCSL64NT/I7-8750H/BT/GTX 1050/8G/1TB+16GB OPTANE/4L3.22/15.6
and also I have bought a  new hard disk :

 2TBWD298PZX SATA 6GB/s PC CA500  Western Digital Hard Disk the s/N is : WX31E38AX5UD  - MDL is : WD20SPZX-22CRATO
the WWN is : 50014EE608E5F67B I don't know if it is compatible with the notebook, and is not an external disk, i just bought it to have more space for Windows 10 Updates and programs updates, so it will be the main disk with windows 10 Home, however I would like to get the windows 10 pro.

- note: this notebook is new and I have bought it in a store like amazon here in peru one day ago and I did not opened and nothing. it has the common warranty for one year.
My questions are:

1) With the  new hard disk that I bought, I would like to put in the laptop so that I can have the Windows 10 home to PRO or should I update in the default hard disk first? ,what steps or recommendations i need to ?
2) If I do the first question, will I lose the common warranty?.

3) Can I overclock this notebook? it is recommended? .

Thank you so much for your help, if I made a mistake or misunderstood, I can be better.

Giovanni.

Yes, this model supports 2 TB hard disk. You need to remove the 1 TB HDD preinstalled on your device and install it.
Please do not make any changes on the original hard disk till you finish the upgrade. Make sure the migration was successful, then format the original HDD and use it for external storage.
Also, please create a USB recovery media before making any changes on your laptop. Use the following steps to create a USB Recovery Drive using Acer Care Center:
Click the Start  menu. Click All Apps. Click the Acer folder, then click Acer Recovery Management. Click the Backup tab.
Click Get Started to the right of Create Factory Default Backup. Insert a 16 GB USB drive into your system.
Make sure there is a check in the box next to Back up system files to the recovery drive and click Next.
Select the drive you wish to create the USB recovery drive to and click Next. Click Create. Click Finish.

I recommend you to try migrating your original hard drive( whole disk) using migrate feature in Minitool Partition wizard, I found it very useful program.

Installing a HDD will not void warranty. The warranty would only void if you break something while installing it, which is extremely unlikely to happen. You may contact Acer support in your region and get more information on warranty of your device.
