need upgrade on 10 y r old laptop: aspire vs swift  for everyday use/future proofed.
hi everyone...newbie here...just hoping to get some ideas, please.
-my current toshiba laptop is 10 yrs plus...considering and upgrade for everyday usage
such as surfing, movies...no heavy video/pic editing but i hear
mx150 graphics upgrade is nice, too(should i wish to engage in 'gaming light')
-prefer a 14''-15.6'' (13'' just too small) doesn't have to be ultralight as it's mostly for home usage.
-would like a good screen and some future proofing: thunderbolt3.
current 8th gen or whiskey lake.
i'm in canada so sometimes it takes a bit for newer models to find their way here.
many thanks.

sorry forgot to mention my budget: seeking mid to upper mid tier/great bang for buck...i know it's a matter of 'you get what you pay for'...but don't necessarily need premium

What you probably want is the VN7-592G Black Edition. AKA the V15 Nitro Black Edition. Price around $1300 when you can find it in stock. Seems to be a popular thunderbolt3 laptop. Make sure whatever you get has the C USB port with the thunderbolt symbol cuz not all VN&-592Gs are 2018 Black Editions. Jack E/NJ

thanks...would something in the spin series also be sufficient?
i am also looking at lenovo yoga 730 and others.
prob is, as a canadian we pay 30% more on US prices (ouch!)
so something in the 1k mark would be ideal (once i factor in the additional 30% with cdn/us dollar diff

Sorry, probably not for what you're looking for at the moment. Maybe next year. If you can find one, a nitro thunderbolt black series is gonna be hard to beat pricewise. Jack E/NJ

thanks...that suggestion looks like a gaming laptop, however, something I'm not really interested in
(sure to have moderate multitasking capabilites and to be able to do some easy/moderate level gaming occasionally
is fine...but not a gaming laptop per se)

So what? Whatsa matter with a gaming laptop? I don't play games even occasionally on my gaming machine. No games installed on it either. All work, no play. Fast work. I call mine a work station. You can call mine a gaming machine if you want. I don't care.  =)   Jack E/NJ
