I can't get my acer chromebook 15 (CB3-532) to connect to my mobile hotspot. I can get all my other devices to connect to it. when I go to hook up to wifi, it pops up with full signal strength but when I click on it to put in my password it gives me the option to do so, but it also says it's out of range. I would like to add that it connects to my mom's hotspot with no issue and we have the same type of phone. I have looked on many other forums and I either can't do what it says to try, have no idea what it's talking about, or it doesn't work. I can connect to any router/hotspot except my personal hotspot. I am desparate for an answer. Please help.

Could you try performing power wash on the device or hard reset by holding refresh key ( 4th Key from top left to right ) and Power button for 10-15 sec and check if it allows to connect.

Also, please be aware google has mentioned that the chrome devices would not be much compatible with hotspots.

Can anybody help?  I know little about this computer stuff, but I do know that my acer CB3-532 won't connect to my wi-fi while all my other devices can connect.  Is there a way to make it work?

I tried a hard reset (didn't work).  I don't know how to "power wash". I don't know what "protocol" is or how to change it. I barely figured out how to ask you questions.

I brought my acer from the States to use in New Zealand and that's when this happened.

Thank you JackE, your question motivated me and I was able to connect -- I'm not sure how I managed but I'm connected!!!

Congrats. Your hard reset is essentially a power wash that didn't work at first. But maybe it did after a complete shutdown and reboot? Or ---- as is often the case with these things --- Magic Happened.  :) Jack E/NJ

BlueboyedThe update messed you up. Not end of google support. If you want to reverse the update, you can uninstall the current chrome version. Then download an older. But before you downgrade, you should've sync'd or backed-up needed data of your profile. Otherwise, you'll lose your bookmarks.
