My Top 5 Games of All Time!

I thought I would share my top 5 games of all time.  They're not necessarily the best games ever but I spent countless hours on all of these games and just writing this made me want to play all of them again.  I may pop into Ragnarok later today because writing this gave me a pang of nostalgia :)

Anyway, here is the list of my Top 5 favorite games of all time (in no particular order because I can't decide which I like most!!)

Final Fantasy VII

I spent so many hours on this game when I was in high school!  It was the first RPG I played and you don't know how many hours I spent on the very first boss fight, Guard Scorpion, because I had absolutely no idea what I was doing.  This was before you could Google a guide :scream:   It's one of the few games that I played multiple times (usually I'm content beating the game once, even if the game has multiple endings).

Favorite character: Yuffie!  I was her age when this game came out.  I also prefer agility over strength and long range characters = win win.  Vincent is a close 2nd.
Favorite part: Naming Red XIII "Nanaki"...  "Nanaki is Nanaki!"  Also, using the Knights of the Round summon animation for snack breaks :sunglasses:

Final Fantasy Tactics

I read a review once calling it "chess on steroids" and I would have to agree.  Much like FFVII it was the first strategy game I played and I spent so much time trying to figure out how the game worked on that first snowball fight!  But after getting the hang of it, I had a lot of fun playing, getting all the classes and recruiting new characters.  I always had a Wizard with Calculator's Math skill in my team.  Height + 3 + Death... move my team out of the way but have a Priest handy to res my own casualties if needed :)

Favorite character: Beowulf...  turning enemies into chickens was a lot of fun.  I am easily amused.
Favorite part: Well that's a shiny dagger you have there, Ovelia...  no wait, what the heck!? :scream:

Ragnarok Online

I played RO for about 10 years.  I was in a small guild for most of this time.  We did participate on siege but we weren't very serious about it.  It was a lot of fun, especially hunting for MVPs.  I wish I had videos of me soloing MVPs on my biochemist.  I made a lot of good friends playing this game and still keep in touch with a lot of them.

Favorite character: Biochemist...  bombs away!!!  But for most of my time in the guild I played as a High Priest because NO ONE EVER WANTS TO PLAY SUPPORT.  I was a horrible priest, though ;) "Rogue's pulling again :triumph: ...  rogue's dead, again :smirk:"

Favorite part: Getting an MVP on my full support High Priest (basically useless for anything but support because they have no STR and low INT) because the DPS died and I would always poke the monsters to increase the EXP :)

Super Mario World

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3RPYcfgKsNI
I still remember waking up on Christmas day, setting up our brand new SNES and playing for hours!  I always liked Super Mario games, so much that after playing Super Mario World we had to buy an NES so I could play Super Mario Bros. and Super Mario Bros. 3.  Super Mario Bros. 2 was just OK

Favorite character: It was all about that BLUE YOSHI!  Does anyone ever use any other color Yoshi?!

Favorite part: Tubular.  I did not use the Power Balloons, I would grab a blue Yoshi, eat one of the Koopas and fly over everything.  You get hit by the Volcano Plant's fireballs, but they knock you off Yoshi and you fall right on it and continue on your merry way until the end.

Resident Evil

Before I owned the game we would go to Blockbuster (who remembers Blockbuster?!) every other weekend and we rented it.  My cousins and I would spend countless nights playing and every jump scare was felt across the neighborhood.  Not everyone wanted to play it, but everyone wanted to watch the play-through!

Favorite character: It was all about that very first zombie :D
Favorite part: ROCKET LAUNCHER!!!!!!!!!!

Memorable Mentions:
  1. Tekken
  2. Mortal Kombat
  3. Jumpin Flash
  4. The Witcher 3 (I know I could easily put it in the Top 5!)
