Veriton X2640G-G4400 RAM Upgrade

MarxxMarxx Posts: 2Member New User
I'd like to upgrade my RAM. Current system is running on DDR4-2133 CL15 4GB RAM.

My Questions:
1) Would I be able to use DDR4-2400 CL17 RAM? Some websites churn out this suggestion after scanning my system.
2) Can I pair the current DDR4-2133 CL15 with DDR4-2400 CL17?
3) Is it possible to use DDR4-2133 or DDR4-2400 with CAS-Latency other than CL15 and CL17?

    Hi,
1.It will run at 2133MHz as the speed is limitted to 2133 by the motherboard.
2.If you mix different speed RAMs, the PC will downclock the speed of 2400MHz  to 2133MHz.
3.I would suggest you to get memory modules to match the original memory specs.

Many thanks. Pretty much what I've guessed...
Actually, I am not so worrying about the 2133~2400MHz things, most motherboards should be able to adjust. I am more confused by the CAS Latency. I've seen DDR4-2400 RAMs with CL other than the common CL17. Not sure how well can the system cop with RAMs of different CL.

You are welcome, for more additional information about latency:http://uk.crucial.com/gbr/en/memory-performance-speed-latency
