Proper SD Card for B3-A30 tablet?

I'm looking for advice on what SD Card I should buy in order to properly transfer my software / games onto it without having Android corrupt them (i.e.: Adoptable or Flex Storage).
But before, a little context.

HARDWARE AND SETUP
I have an Iconia One, model B3-A30 tablet, with 16GB Rom / 1GB Ram. It has Android 6.0 (Marshmallow).
Stock, this tablet is fine with very light applications but barely usable as soon as you ask anything significant (play a game per example)
Examples of problems are applications not responding for minutes at a time, even though all other applications are closed.
Some applications also crash and send me back to the home screen for no obvious reason (very often after not responding for a while).
I'm guessing here the tablet is just starving for ram.

I've deactivated just about all the software I didn't need to increase free memory.
I've reinstalled twice.
I've updated everything (using live update too).
The slowness persists.

The device is NOT rooted.
Developer options are available but DISABLED.

FIRST ATTEMPT AT ADOPTABLE OR FLEX STORAGE
Two months ago I bought a generic 64gb SD Card (Team Group TUSDX64GUHS03 SDXC/SDHC UHS-I) with the intention of transferring all the non-critical software on it, figuring this would fix my issues. It was a nice class 10 SD card. IT WORKED GREAT, the tablet was flying.
After a few reboots however the tablet complained the SD card was corrupt / not properly inserted and forced me to format it. It always failed after a few reboots.
After much reading I learned that this might be caused by the card not being fast enough. In every other circumstance the card has performed flawlessly. It is NOT a defective SD card.

SO I AM SOLICITING YOUR ADVICE.
Is getting a faster SD card (90mb/s and plus) the way to go in order to transfer software?
I can get an SD card with a 300mb/s rating but it costs more than the tablet. Do I need to spend this amount of money to get Adoptable or Flex Storage working?
I read somewhere the actual SD card PORT was speed limited on certain devices. Can someone tell me if the B3-A30 has such a limitation?
Maybe Acer has decided to simply not support Adoptable or Flex Storage on this device. I’m figuring they’d remove the menu to do this. But hey ... stuff happens.
Are there specific SD cards you know that are compatible with Adoptable or Flex Storage? I was looking at the Sandisk SDSQUAR-032G-GN6MA (Class 10 UHS-I U1 A1) … let’s be honest, SD card descriptions are A MESS! I can’t afford to do trial and error anymore.

I'm not interested in rooting the device.

Any help is very appreciated. And might also help future users.
