I have a brand new Acer Nitro 5 computer and Geek Squad has done all the updates on the drivers (wireless included) and etc for set up.   I am asking here so see if anyone has a different opinion on the topic.

We pay for boost on internet speed and it is not the cable connection!   This computer at times will connect to the internet at 435.00 mbps  and at times connect at 3.0 mbps.  I can put my old Toshiba right next to this one and the speed does not change and my daughter has an Mac computer (brand new top of the line) and it runs at 435.00 mbps and has no fluctuation in the speed at any time.  The only computer that has issues with it is this Acer computer.   Please give any insights.  The router has been reset many times and doesn't change the results. I find that it is random as to when the speeds change.

  • Hi,
You could try switching to different DNS address, google DNS, OpenDNS or cloudflare DNS.
Go to Control Panel-> Network and Internet-> Network connections, right click WiFi, select Properties, highlight IPV4 and click Properties, then click Use the following  DNS address radio button, change to different DNS addresses and see any of them helps.
    Google DNS: 8.8.8.8
    secondary:8.8.4.4
    Open DNS:208.67.222.222
                    208.67.220.220
    Cloudflare: 1.1.1.1
                      1.0.0.1
