Helios 500 black screen

Hi all!
i have a problem with my brand new helios 500 after installing 2,5 ssd in the empty bay. Have tryied everything reseting bios , reseting battery, reseting from power botton , removing new installed ssd, remove and fitted back ramm memory but no succes.
the power botton lights up also keyboard, it stays like this for 10 sec maybe and after that it shuts off and in 2-3 secs it is doing the same thing over and over again. All this time display is black completely. Have no clue what can cause these , if anybody have any sugestion what i can do? I was hopping for a quick fix if there is still any.
   I will send it to guarantee probably in few days if i will not be able to fix it.
    Bu the way...helios 500 was a great laptop in the few days when i was able to enjoy it. Hope for the best !

Sorry to hear you are having trouble with your new machine. That's a bummer. Hope it turns out to be an easy fix.

I don't know the answer to your situation but when I upgraded the BIOS on my machine it started to do a similar thing for about 2 minutes or so. I thought I had bricked the machine and was about to powerdown to start to "fix" whatever happened. It turned out that that is normal for a BIOS update to this machine. Maybe --- and this is an outside chance --- it is also taking many cycles for your BIOS to "figure out" the new hardware configuration. How long did you let it go through those black screen cycles? Maybe you are just stopping it prematurely. It's the only idea I have for you.

Hi! thank you for the reply, i let it like 10 minutes and it is doing same thing, tomorrow i will have the motherboard checked and probably bios upgrade... i think that the problem that i have was caused by some energy stored in the motherboard and when i connected back the battery something was damaged... this is the only thing that i can think of... i will post the results tomorrow or after the job is done.

Problem found, motherboard chipset fried and spare chipset can not be found on sale anywere... accordind to technician. I will send it tomorrow to acer to see what can be done, probably motherboard replacement.:) this will be fun.
to all... be very carefull with the upgrades on the F&$@ing Helios 500 as one very simple job can cause a lot of stress . enjoy.

Thanks for the update. Sorry that happened. Good news is that since it was just a simple upgrade, Acer should be quick to fix/replace it then. Best!

Hi! It took 15 days , this is the maximum legal time alowed on gurantee, it depends how many days are alowed in yo’re country on standard guaranty, you can google search this .gl
