No sound at TV with HDMI cable Acer 5738z laptop

Hi

I hope Acer can help me.

I have an Aspire 5738Z laptop running Windows 7 32 bit  ultimate. I am trying to set up a HDMI cable connection to my Samsung Smart TV.

The picture is fine but there's no sound. Also my hdmi cable is correct. When I go into Sound in the Control Panel, there is no HDMI option to choose in order to send the output to the TV speakers (only "Speakers" and "S/Digital Audio S/PDIF) .

I've tried downloading various Graphics Media Accelerator Drivers from the ACER, INTEL and REALTEK sites but they all say that they are not validated for my computer.

I am confuse!  Please guide me?

Right click on the speaker icon again in the tray. Click the mixer on the bottom. Then click system sounds in the box that pops up. Then in the next box click on playback. Is the HDMI sounds checked? Jack E/NJ
