So we have an old Acer X480G at work. I checked on the crucial website and they offer a range of SSD for it

http://www.crucial.com/usa/en/compatible-upgrade-for/Acer/veriton-x480g

I am wondering is there room and cables to add a SSD for a boot drive while keeping the original HDD for storage? Is there room under the DVD drive to secure the SSD or is the only option to swap out the HDD for the SSD after an image is duplicated?

    Hi.

Always take the boxes to several sites to add another, such as to connect another SATA data cable to the motherboard, the only thing you should see if you have the power supply to connect the power supply or you will have to buy an additional one.

In some of these departments, you can attach them, with their respective adapters.

    Regards.

That isn't the case we have. Looks more like this

I think there isn't going to be room to fit an SSD plus HDD and DVD. One has to go.

Well, I left an example, you look if you are an empty bay if you have, you can dock it, taking into account that the motherboard has SATA connection available.

If you do not have a free bay, you can also connect it, it would be a home remedy.
