My Acer predator helios 300 laptop is getting heated while playing games like fortnite and its been 9 months since I've bought this laptop and in this month onwards it's giving me frame drops for a second or two while playing games. It didn't use to do that before. Plus laptop is getting very heated, CPU temps minimum 75 and maximum 98 and GPU minimum 68 and maximum 96 with predator cool sense on and max fan speed. I have also undervolted my laptop at -110V. Please suggest what I should do to reduce the heating and to get rid of frame drops. Thank you in advance.

Well like @Red-Sand said try cleaning your fans and while you are at it maybe repaste it too as you already undervolted it :)

Some times the default power option is set to high performance in windows change it to balanced after that change the maximum process state to below 100 by default it will be 100.You can do this by going to control panel>power options>change plan setting >change advanced power setting>processor power management>maximum process state>on battery and reduce it.For me at first my temperature was reaching 97 degree while playing call of duty but after doing the above steps my temperature is below 75 degree. If u wish to reduce more use the max fan speed on predator sense

Try the above steps especially the processor power management.I got a huge temperature drop and now its running smoothly without any issues.if it doesn't work you should consider about re pasting  your thermal paste or contact acer service center before warranty expires as predator laptops offers only 1 year warranty

Note that doing the above most likely disables turbo boost.

Its up to you whether you need an increased life span or increased performance of your device

Even if your CPU ran at 95 C 100% of the time no damage would come of it. The only negative effect(s) would be..
    1. Thermal throttle at 95 C reduces performance.
    2. Your thermal paste would dry out quicker.

These CPUs are *designed* by Intel (meaning they made them this way on purpose) to run and hit the throttle point which then lowers clock speeds and lessens temps.

While on a gaming machine this is unacceptable, it is still within operating parameters of the processor and will not damage it.

Anyone who tells you otherwise has no understanding of how processors work.

Additionally.. it is very easy with a few tweaks to get optimum (max) performance of your processor and have it not thermal throttle as well.

My Helios 300 never surpasses 68 C on CPU and 65 C on GPU, all while having better performance than a desktop of the same specs.
I also have stock CPU speeds and have overclocked my GPU passed what Predator Sense overclock does.

I recommend checking out my videos on Throttlestop and undervolting the GPU to gain higher stable clock speeds while reducing power requirements and lessening temperatures.

Note: If you follow the Throttlestop Remix video, keep in mind Turbo Ratio limits can be left stock if you utilize the GPU undervolt video.
In the GPU UV video I show clips of games at max graphic settings and my Helios 300's temps at the beginning of the video.

Its not about the damage obviously at 97 C also there wont  be any damage as intel claims that there processor can withstand up to 100 C but one would never want there device at boiling temperature

@Red-Sand Dude, I've already seen that thermal pasting video of yours before. Didn't thought you would answer my question. Also I'm gonna watch each and every video of yours about optimising my helios 300. Based on what you said about your helios, those are sweet and healthy stats I want them for my helios as well. Keep up the good work!

@Red-Sand Hey, As you said I cleaned my fans and I blowed air and after that I put everything back and started the laptop but for some reason when my laptop starts the fans make a weird whistle sound is that something I should be worried about after cleaning my fans?
