Acer Aspire canot find WiFi

My daughter has an Acer Aspire E1-531 running Windows 7. The machine cannot fine any WiFi around our house, however her phone easily picks up ours and shows several of the neighbor's WiFI.

The two network adapters, one for the Ethernet and the WLAN are both installed and working, (Broadcom Drivers) but it does not pick up any wireless. Performing a trouble shooting only give the message that the cable is not hooked up. (access to the internet is fine if I plug the Ethernet cable in) Nothing Wireless is found. Been searching the net for a few days and have tried an abundance of suggestions, but nothing works. I am about to throw her laptop at a brick wall. Anyone have any suggestions. Please and thanks.

Please try to press and hold the Fn key and tap the F3 key to Enables/disables wireless connectivity of your computer.

Also, tap only the F3 key and check if the WiFi is turning ON.
