I bought my Acer Swift (SF113-31-P216) In January this year, beautiful machine. However last month after it had been been charged i removed the charger from the port only to find part of the charger pin had come off inside the machine leaving an inner pin. after many attempts to contact acer i finally got through to be told it would be user damage and chargable! there excuse was that nobody else had encountered this problem so must be my  fault because chargers dont do that. On closer inspection of the charger port i noticed the casing was misaligned with the actual charger jack, the outcasing didnt have the usual plastic ring around it after asking a technician, it is clear the charger has been repeatedly been catching on the casing causing damage to the charger which has led to part of it being pulled off when removing it from the machine.
The misalignment is a manufacturing fault therefore Acer should be taking steps to rectify this rather than telling me its my fault and offering an expensive repair job. Ive included pictures of the misalignment and of the charger after it was removed. I had initially believed it was a fault with the charger itself but i can now see that the misalignment in the casing is what has caused the fault rendering the laptop unsuable because i cannot charge it due to the peice now being stuck in the port.

This is a manufacturing fault which Acer need to take responsibility for.

    Hi TechRebecca,

I am sorry to hear you're having problems.  Unfortunately this community is not a direct portal to customer service so we can't determine if this should be under or not the warranty, you have the option to take it to the repair center to have it diagnose but as you been advise, this can incur on charges if its determine by Acer technician that is not covered under Acer warranty.

Acer Forum Discussions were designed as a peer to peer support community where Acer users help other Acer users. Moderators read the various topics posted here and you will notice that some may interact with members when appropriate. But primarily we want the community to be a place where members can exchange their own advice and ideas.

We recommend you contacting your local Acer support line for better assistance:
