Hello guys! I am about to buy a new 17 inch Helios 300 (2018) but got put of with the 144Hz model because it uses PWM backlight and my eyes are very sensitive to it.Does anyone know if the 60 Hz variant uses PWM also ?? Thanks in advance

Doesn't matter what the monitor or display refresh rate is, since they're of the order only 100Hz. PWM only affects screen brightness. PWM frequencies are so high in this model  (of the order 100,000Hz! or more) that I find it hard to believe that you would be sensitive to this except for a ***very dimly lit*** screen in a very dark room. Have you actually tried to use this machine in a very dark room where screen brightness would be set to very low levels? Jack E/NJ

I don't have any idea. When using an secondary monitor, it is possible in its settings to enable or disable the pwm mode. I found this though:

Maybe adjusting brightness and contrast you could mask the effects of pwm, but I suspect it would, maybe, reduce some color accuracy or lead to higher power usage.

What if you reduce the refresh rate in windows? I don't even know it this is possible, but may worth a try.

Nothing peaks at the same time...
