Hi, I have recently purchased a new Acer es1-132-c4xy laptop only to find that the c drive is too small to accept any windows 10 updates,
so I have added an 8gb RAM and also a 300gb hard drive, I now have a laptop that starts up quickly has a c drive that is too small on disc 2 and 300gb of unused memory space on disc 1 :/ .
How can I change this so as the c drive has more space to work properly?
In anticipation
thanks :)

Please create a USB recovery media before making any changes on your device.

The quickest way to clear space in Windows is to run Microsoft’s built-in Disk Clean-up utility, or an alternative such as CCleaner Free, Microsoft’s Disk Clean-up utility can safely delete hidden system files. Click the button that says “Clean up system files” for the option to delete various files including “Previous Windows Installation(s)”.

Next, go back to the Storage page and click on your C: drive. Windows 10 will scan your 32GB and tell you how much space you have free.

Though the disk cleanup method basically deletes every insignificant junk files and help regain some disk space, you need a manual deletion of this update installation files, which will definitely release several GBs of storage for you.

Step 1. In the search box in Windows 10, type cmd and Command Prompt should appear in the result. Right click on it and choose Run as administrator.

Step 2. In the Command Prompt window, type the commands and press Enter after each:

    net stop wuauserv
    net stop bits

Now follow the path C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution. Open the SoftwareDistribution folder and delete everything inside, not including the folder itself.

Step 4. Return to the Command Prompt, now type the other two commands and press Enter after each:

    net start wuauserv
    net start bits

Finally, you can open File Explorer, right click on the C: drive, select properties, and check the box for disk compression. According to Microsoft when done (takes a while) that should reduce the disk space by 1.5GB (-x86) to 2.5GB (-64)

    >>You can manually try to update using the Upgrade Assistant tool.

Head to the Windows 10 Download page. Click on the “Update now” button to download the Upgrade Assistant tool. From the download page, click “Update Now” to use the Update Assistant to walk you through the upgrade. The second option is for creating install media on a drive or disc. The Update Assistant will walk you through the upgrade process but keep in mind it will take some time and your system will restart several times.

    >>Run these Commands to Resolve Any System Integrity Issues
Press Windows key + X, click Command Prompt (Admin) then type each command then hit Enter on your keyboard.
    Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /CheckHealth
    Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /ScanHealth

I have done all the storage saving stuff and run C cleaner, disc clean and defragged but I am still 8gb short.  I have removed all photos videos downloads and data and all apps except for open office and McAffee. Why O Why don't Acer provide enough space to allow windows upgrades to run??

@Spireman needless to say the driving force on that model was all initial cost to the consumer. The cheapest way to build it was the 32GB eMMC storage, directly soldered to the motherboard. Microsoft has a work around for you however. If you put a SD card in the slot (not a USB drive) Windows will use the space for temporary files during the update. The other option, since you have installed a 300GB drive, is to change the C: partition from the eMMC to the HDD. You can leave the hidden partitions still on the little drive and just change the Windows partition to the bigger drive.
