Model number is G3-572 (predator helios 300). There is no problem with the outlet. The Laptop is charging just fine and there is no problem with the battery backup. But, once the charge has reached 100% it is unable to maintain it like it used to. Once the charge is full the power disconnects as if i have removed the charger and switches to the battery. I know this because of the beep sound and there is noticeable difference in the brightness and also the keyboard lights switches off because both modes are different. The Battery icon also changes from the plugged in symbol to just the battery level. This keeps happening probably about 5 times every minute so now i just take the charger off once the charge hits 100% otherwise this just keeps on happening for hours on end. Once the charge reaches 100% the power disconnects and then shows 99% then starts to charge again till it reaches 100% in a few seconds and this keeps happening in frequent cycles.

    Hi @Van12
Please check all the screws of the bottom case are secured correctly.
    >> Try to perform a simple power reset and check the issue.  Shutdown the laptop. Disconnect the charger. Disconnect the external display. Please check for a battery reset PIN hole at the bottom of the device. The reset hole would have a battery symbol next to it. Insert a paperclip into the hole and press for four seconds. Let the computer sit for 5 minutes with no power. Reconnect the charger and power On the laptop.

    >>Please Open device manager click “Battery” and under Battery, please click “Microsoft ACPI-Compliant Control Method Battery”. Now, do a right click on it, then click “Uninstall”. Confirm that you would like to uninstall the Microsoft ACPI-Compliant Control Method Battery. After the uninstallation process, please restart your computer. As soon as you restart your computer, the Windows will automatically install the driver again. Please check your battery icon on the right bottom side of your Windows screen to see if it is charging.

    >>Check the Power options  :  Go into "Control Panel" and then "Power Options". Click the "Change plan settings" link next to which ever plan you are currently using and then click "Change advance power settings". Check the settings (you may have to go through all of them) and find any possible options that could cause this. You can start with things like "Display", etc. Once you have gone through them all, and made all your changes, click "Apply" and then click "OK".

Please check if the charger or the charging port is hot.
Also, check if the BIOS version is up to date.
Upgrading your system BIOS incorrectly could harm your Acer product. Please proceed with caution.

Discharge to about 50%. Then plug in and update BIOS. It should take atleast 45 mins to charge from 50 to 100, and BIOS update takes less than 5 minutes.

Has anyone managed to fix it? I have an Aspire VX 15 with the same problem, as soon as it hits 100% battery the charger disconnects and reconnects after few seconds, repeating forever. This is really messing my work since my laptop slows down on battery. I have attached a battery report to help anyone who can come up with a solution, the problem begins as it reach 100%+ (overcharging is a thing?)

It is not overcharging, your battery is reporting wrong stats to the main board. Try doing a battery reset and see if that helps. Would also help if allowed the battery go down all the way until it auto hibernates and then charged it back to 100% while using laptop.

Uninstall the acpi driver reboot and let it install again if you haven't done it already as @sri369 said the battery is reporting wrong stats to the mobo anyway it's just a suggestion

[Solution] Guys, the problem is the OS. It is not a hardware problem it is a software problem and apparently a very common one among asus laptop users. Me and my brother had this same problem even though we use different laptops. Anyway, just resetting the OS will fix the problem. i'm almost 100% sure that this is the issue but i would recommend installing another OS like linux or something else just to make sure before proceeding to reset or reinstall your windows.

I too face this at times - all i do at such times is unplug for 2-3 seconds and plug back in, and it all gets set right.

Hi there!! I had the same issue and I fixed it like this:
-Let your battery consume to 0 and charge it shut down to the top. When you turn on the computer it will be 100% and steel doing the beep sound.
-Repeat this 4 times and then charge it with the computer turned on.
    Hope this help!
