Windows 1809 update does weird things on my G3-572

1803 never did install due to the intel ssd problem.  Win10 finally stopped trying to dwnld that to my Predator g3-572.  Low and behold, 1809 showed up a few days ago in Windows update and installed itself.  Afterwards, all my start tiles were gone...well... most of them.  Programs are okay, but the tile area is mostly empty except for down-facing arrows reading "a great app is on the way".  Weird.

Night Light is totally non-functional in 1809.  Maybe no one uses it, but I do.  The night light slider and off/on tabs do nothing in 1809 on my laptop.

Other strange things happened also... although perhaps those are just due to Microsoft changing locations of stuff in windows itself.

At any rate, I reverted (once again) to 1709 where everything works as usual.  I'll probably do a clean install of everything in a few weeks..which may clear up whatever the gremlins are.  I'm going to buy win10 Pro as a standalone retail copy and install that so I can get some control over blocking a lot of these updates.  I already use wushowhide a lot.  

Any one else have strange stuff going on with 1809 and their Predator laptop?

I know that 1809 was deleting "My Documents" from peoples PCs after updating (not on my Predators tho). Sounds like they botched the re-release 😅
